Most likely the CMP- which, for clarification, is the diesel's version of the gasser's CPS. It doesn't necessarily set a DTC either, esp on intermittent problems. Easy R&R, it's about $85 for the part I think. Make sure you get the updated CMP, there is a superceded version.

The price I was thinking of is FMC dealer cost.
FMC wholesale is about $150. List is $186.
In this thread, tcervi1028 said IH's are $98, by far the best price. I haven't checked with IH, I don't know myself.
I would check with IH to verify part #, cost, or maybe tcervi1028 knows.

Actually, you got me motivated, just had to satisfy my own curiosity...
I called my local IH dealer. The IH part # is 1825899C93. Cost is $96.78.
They are open today, wonder why yours wasn't. I'm PST tho, maybe yours are closed for the day already.
Did you try a med/hvy truck dealer, or a tractor dealer, or both?
BTW, I am surprised at the price. Usually my FMC wholesale price is pretty good, but the IH price on this kicks A$$!

I don't know if the ag dealers stock this part. I found it at an IH OTR dealer, since the med/hvy trucks use Navistar variants.
At $97, worth the wait tho! A lot of Ford dealers are closed Sat. anyways, so Mon. would be the soonest anywhere.
If you have no IH dealers anywhere near you, call one, use your plastic, have him drop ship to you. Use FedEx or something overnight if you're in a real hurry.

The part #for the one I bought from my local IH dealer is 1821720C99.They call it a transmitter.The list price was 119.66 But,I found "somebody that knows somebody" and got it for 87$.I can only go buy what the parts guy told me ,that it is the latest version?
