Okay, need some help here. Tried to order the block heater cord from PartsAmerica.com and today received an email stating they can't provide the cord and were cancelling the order.
Tried to find the cord online at Ford Parts Network and PowerStrokeShop.com to no avail. Where can one get the block heater cord for a 2005 F350SD at a reasonable price?
I got mine at.Wayne County FORD in Pa.
They gave me one during my first service but I think they said it cost 37.00 dollars. They have a web site too.
Good luck

Maybe that's why PartsAmerica.com can list them for $19.99 since they don't have any to sell. Only kidding... I heard Ford dealerships sell these things for outrageous prices. $37.00 is a little high if you ask me, but I may end up going to the local dealer.
I agree 37.00 is high. when I ordered my 1996 the heater with the cord was 22.00 Dollars.
I was shocked that my truck did not have a cord but I must say my dealer did give me one. Heck it should be there for the money they ask for these trucks.
Check your local international dealer. We have the VT-365 engine so I imagine the cord will be the same.
I just bought an 06 and had the same problem. I learned, however, that all the diesels come with the block heater, it is only the cord that is optional!. That is why it is such an inexpensive option. I bought a Ford cord from Parts America for about $44 (an aftermarket one costs about $15). The heater is on the right side of the 06.
If you want to know when to plug in the heater, just listen to how the engine sounds on days when you do versus when you don't. I plug mine in under 30 degrees F.

I think I have found the cord It appears to be coiled up and wire tied to itself and is located behind the front bumper inboard of the right fog light. There appears to be a covered outlet at the end of the cord.

I have an 05 and I've crawled all up under the front end and don't see anything near the tow hook or fog light. I was at the dealer today and had the tech look for it and he didn't see it. He said that he's not seen a cord on any truck they've worked on. He said the price to put in a cord from the engine block to the front would be about $35 plus Ford's cord price of $47. He said stringing the cord along is a hassle and he said that many had complained to Ford for leaving out the cord on Texas vehicles.
So I guess the 05's don't all have the cord, just the heater.
