Transmission "Thump"
I have a 2001 350 XLT Van with the v10. (100K Miles) In the past week, I've noticed that the transmission is "thumping" into 2nd and 3rd gear. It varies depending on how hard I accelerate. It's been somewhat cold out lately, but I've driven in low temperatures before and the problem didn't arise. I also notice that the RPM seems to be going slightly higher than usual before the shift takes place. Could this be a problem in the making or perhaps a weather related issue?
Any experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated...
On a side note, a friend of mine said to turn "OD" off while in the city. Will this have any impact on mileage or performance?
Thanks for you time!

Sorry caps lock on and didn't catch it and don't feel like retyping (Editted by MONSTA for ya.
The thumping (hard shift ) is not normal so first do the simple things like getting the fluid checked and replaced if more than 30K on it. These trannys are sensitive to even a slightly low fluid level especially when cold out. If the problem persists pester your dealer about all the different Tech Service Bullitens TSBs that are on that tranny.
Make sure you only use the Ford recommended fliud or equivilant.
