Question Having two DTC codes with 10K mod.

I have an 02 F-350 w/ a 7.3, 'course. I just installed the 10K mod and I came up with these two codes. I want to be VERRY causious with this truck as I dont want do wreck it. I have no idea if these codes mean death for the engine or not. If anyone knows about these two codes and/or the 10K mod, I would apreciate any and all advice.

P1211 - ICP Not Controlable - Pres Above/Below Desired

P1248 - Turbo Boost Pres Not Detected

These codes were taken tonight (1/7/05) with a Superchips programmer. The check engine light only comes on after FULL throttle, just after 1-2 shift on the auto trans.

The 1211 code is no big deal thats how it works. The 10K sends a low ICP pressure rating to the computer so the computer will increase oil pressure, when actually you have more oil then you need. Sometimes the reading sent to the computer is outside the range Ford considers normal and you get the light. If it really bugs you go to www.blackclouddiesel.com and get thier 18K adjustable. It's like 50 bucks and you can adjust it so you never get the light.

Ok, thank you psdpower. Does anyone know what the 1248 code means, I know the book definition, but what could it have been tripped by?

Maybe a bad MAP sensor? I really don't see how that is related to the 10K.

ok, I wasn't shure if it was or not, I just have never had that code on this truck prior to this install. Thank you very much for you help.

For every one who is wondering about the 10K mod, I personaly think it works VERY well for how much you put into it. I haven't had a chance to try 0-60 on dry pavement, but on snow and ice (yes its a poor test) slipping and spinning in 4wd it gave me 12.2. That is around the same as it used to get on dry pavement in 2wd, so I'd say it helped, alot.

do u have it on a switch? I got mine riged up, so if i need a little x-tra boost i just flip the switch, it's very noticible and cool!! give it a shot if you sind some extra wire and a switch!!

Nope, didn't even use wire, first heard about it tonight, installed it with an extra resistor I had, (Boy was I lucky to find a 10K resistor in my drawer) and found out I liked it just a little after instalation.

The possible causes out of the factory manual for DTC 1248 are: could be a damaged MAP hose, Low turbo boost, Intake manifold or crossover tube hose leaks, damaged MAP sensor, damaged PCM.

can someone answer my question i put the 10k mod on my truck the rough idle is excesive and when i hit about 80km on the speedo the tach turning 2000 rpm the extra power from the mod shuts off like a switch and the check engine light comes on the only way i can get the power back is to stop and shut the engine off and restart it.What can i do yo fix it,please reply thanks.
