Well just got my hands on a code reader for my truck. i plugged it in, followed the step by step and read the codes. here is what i got just from plugging it into my OBDII port as it was displayed to me.
P0472- Exhaust Back Pres Sens Circ Low Input.
P1690 Waste gate Ctrl Valve Error.
P0500 VSS Error
P0475 Exhaust Pres Ctrl Valve Error.
P0603 Internal Ctrl Mod Error.
P0720 Output Speed Sens Circ Error.
P1316 Injector Circ\IDM Codes Detected.
After reading I cleared the codes, took the truck around the block and checked it again. the only code that came back was P1316.
i know this is a lot and should most likely split between a few posts but please point me to the most serious ones first. Any help is greatly appreciated and have a Happy Memorial Day Weekend.

I know the VSS is your vehicle speed sensor on the rear diff. The OSS output speed sensor is the rear most sensor on top of the trans. Just replaced those on my rig is why I know.
Your 0603 is probably because you have a chip or tuner/programmer.. no big deal..
Your 0472 is probably cause by a dirty exhaust steel tubing from your passenger side exhaust manifold to the exhaust back pressure sensor.. Just remove it and clean it..
I would go for a 10 mile drive to include some freeway speeds (freeway not necessary) and then check for codes again. Only worry about the codes that come back
The P1316 may be a loose UVCH connector, or possibly an injector problem. Can the code reader perform any tests?
Edit: And like Jim asked, what kind of code reader is it?
Well the reader is a superchips 1855 flashpaq. doesnt seem to do anytest but i just got it from a friend who had a truck but sold it. It had no paper work or anything like that with it. just the unit. seems to read and clear codes well and has some tuning programs to try out later. my biggest concern is the P1613 code. I have UVC wires on order at a local parts store. will try to get out and replace them as soon as they come in. truck ran fine then just died. this is an ongoing post from "No start in Norfolk" for those that rememeber. id link to it but dont know how.

If you are replacing the UVC wiring the 1316 code may just go away. Have you had the VCs off?
Do a search for the "Superchips 1855 Flashpaq" and you may find an online manual.
Don't pay for the new harness until you remove the valve covers.. It is probably just a loose 9 pin connector.. You just need to shim the locking tabs to keep the connector from separating.. ( a major problem with our PSD's).this will cause a P1316 code...

Good point! Exactly why I asked if he has had the VCs off.
i was getting ready to pull the driver VC when the rain just started pouring down so I went inside and now im here. it was nice and sunny this morning and then clouds and rain. i hate VA weather. anyway, ive narrowed down my problem to the driver side UVC wires (or at least i hope thats it) and will check when the rain stops. what is the part number to order the UVC wires online and where can i get them in case i need to replace them.
well i got the VC off this morning and low and behold, the 9 pin connect was completely off and disconnected. i did the old quater trick and hope that will hold. i canceled the order for the wires. at least the VC is not that hard to get off if i ever have to do it again. biggest issue was the damn intercooler pipe.
well now the truck is running strong and seems to have plenty of get and and go. no codes have come back as of yet but i will take it for a good long drive and get things good and hot. next project oil change and fuel filter. coolent will come after pay day.
to all that gave advice on this post and others. thanks!
Great News !! I love it when a PLAN comes together... Mine did the same thing a couple of years ago.. no problems since..
Be sure to check the passenger side also..
