Pretty much new to the forums, looks like a great place to get info.
I just got a 88 f150w/302 efi, the guy said all it needed was a fuel pump, but is still ran.
This is what it will do, it starts fine even when its 10 degrees outside. The problems start when you hit the throttle, it will bog and sputter, then clears out around 2500rpm, if i get back on the gas it will fall on its face and bog and miss.
I dont think its the fuel pump it does it on both tanks front and rear and it dont do it all the time, all tho it does seem like its not getting enough fuel.
The guy that had it before me put headers with flowmasters on it, and removed most of the emission control system components, not sure if this may mave something to do with it.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dennis

Depending on what and how they removed the emission parts may play a role. First you should check for engine codes, Then if need be I would check the fuel pressure.

I was going over everything today, i cant seem to find the problem, i know for sure its fuel. So there is 3 fuel pumps on these trucks right?
This happend today, it was running good better then normal, i filled up the front tank i went maybe 10 miles down the road then it died, i switched to the rear tank and it started right up ran perfect for about 25-30 minutes then started its "boging". A friend of mine is going to let me use his fuel pressure tester, about what should it be in PSI?
I believe the pressure is 39 psi at idle. So yes, they do have three pumps, one in each tank and one in the frame, I have seen the one along the frame go more often then the others. Also check your fuel pump relay, located under the hood on the Driver's side.
