I managed to break a wheel lug when taking the wheel off. (The tire shop cross threaded the lug nut and it would not unscrew). How do you replace the wheel lug? Its a 97 Explorer, rear wheel with disk brakes. It appears all you have to do is take off the brake caliper and then pull the brake rotor off. I cannot get the rotor to budge ( Yes, I have released the Ebrake). Any tips on pulling the rotor off and replacing the lugs? In the mean time I'm driving with only four lug nuts, any problems there?
I don't know?
My friend took his 92 diesel 4x4 ext cab with 3 cords of wood.He only had 4 lug nuts on at the time and drove something like 1500miles till he got 4 more and he frequently checked the lug nut torque(tightness) and it was fine.
