lol, yep this had me stumped until whd507 sorted me out. I since have been in touch with a local fellow that did a brake rebuild on this very vehicle, lucky me huh? He has agreed to come out and show me what he knows. Hope to put this rig on the road by fall and I will post what I learn when it happens. I really like this RV standing still hope the moving part is good as well. I have replaced the mechanical fuel pump with an electric one and intend to rebuild the carb. The engine is running nice and smooth but sitting for 10yrs has caused the carb to leak so mainly replacing the gaskets is my goal I also think putting some tranny cleaner like Trans-X would be a good idea. be interested to hear any comments on that.
Thanks to those of you maintaining this wonderful resource of information. you just cannot go buy help like this. Kudos big time.

Hmmm glad I asked . Should I just leave the tranny be then? The last time the rig was driven was a 600mi trip, then sitting for 3yrs, towed in Neutral about a mile to where it now sits past 7yrs. I have no reason to believe anything is wrong.
I would be a little leary of additives too. I have seen vehicles destroyed with bad additives. My 86 T-Bird ate it within a thousand miles of adding an additive. I think a chage out of the old tranny fluid to new fresh fluid would be fine. Don't forget to drain the converter as well. The electric pump was probably a good move. I changed my 77 F250 over in 1988. I use a Malloy high volume racing pump and have never suffered vapor lock since.
