I’ve been so mad at my dealer because I’ve been complaining many times about a wind whistle in my front windshield for about a month now. Finally they found out what it was....it’s my darn bug shield up front on the hood. They took it off and test drove it then! SILENT! I got this bug shield from a auto store for 50 bucks, but it on myself and I loved the way it looked! I want it back on for the looks as well as saving my paint job, but Ford told me they have theres they can put on from Ford that has a little logo that says "f150" on it, it’s nice but they told me this one won’t make a whistle noise but could not tell me what the difference was between the two bug shield that I had and what they had.
Can anyone tell me if the bug shield they brought from Ford whistles or not at highway speeds or very windy days? The one ford is trying to sell me cost 179.00 thats including installing. Should I even bother? I like the looks and want it but will that one from ford be better?
They are trying to rip you off. I think I paid $64 or $69 for a Ford low profile bugshield and put it on myself. The taller one maybe costs $10 bucks more. Tell them to go pound sand you know where.
Same here. I paid $67 or so and installed it in about 30 minutes. The low profile one looks sharp too. Sounds to me that they must get paid about $200/hour. I'm in the wrong business I guess.
I got mine wholesale through my brother's body shop and paid less than $50 (he ordered it in error for another job and was going to send it back) and it took about 15-20 minutes to install. No noise from it at all and it looks good.
WOW! I can't believe how much more my dealer wants for this high profile bug sheild! That's crazy!! Maybe I should just go to another Ford dealer and see what they can do for me! I was going to get ripped off BIG time!! Thank you sooo much for this info! Helped me out big time!!! Thanks again!
