Hi I have 2 question for all 73-79 lovers.
1-* I have a 77 f-100 I will like to know if a inside hood relese sistem can be instaled in my truck I belive only ford Bronco came with this sistem, and if is posible to do it where thesego inside the truck?
2-* My truck have a antythef sistem i don't know if is original or not can anyone tell me some about this?
I think 78 was the first year for the locking hood. It could be ordered for any truck / Bronco. It was located next to the e-brake and was operated with the ignition key. It looks like a t-handle. You could certainly put one in your truck if you find one, but you wont be able to use your key in it & I don't know of anyone that could rekey it so it would fit your key. If you find one try to get all the lock cylinders, door, ignition to go with it.
I've never heard of a factory anti theft system in 73- 79 trucks.
I installed one in my 77. Don't know what year was first but it works fine. If you get one with the key lock simply have a lock smith change it to fit your ignition.
my friends 79 F-250 SC has that T-handle, we couldnt figure out if it was a stock option or not, glad this thread cleared that up for us, ive never seen one in any other rig before, now im gonna hunt a couple down for my trucks....
You can put them on any 73-79 truck or bronco. They come in the locking type that has been mentioned or the non locking which has a black t handle. You can find them on ebay. I have sold some there and they usually sell for $50 for the locking and $35 for the non locking. Good luck.
