KAM Error, Need help ASAP

My truck was running fine, after letting it warm up, went to take off from hotel, and check engine light came on and it ran like only half the motor was there. Sounded like it too, real noisy, then it runs fine for 10 seconds or so, then back to crap again. When I checked the codes with my evolution tuner, it says 60036 I think, KAM error, Keep alive memory error. What does this mean? where should I look? WHat causes this? Is there a flowcahart of what I should check?

Lastly, not to sound like a jerk, but if you arent POSITIVE of what your talking about, please dont post, as I am trying to get this fixed to make it halfway BACK across the country to get home. Thanks in advance to any and all that can help.

P0603 KAM error is a very, very common error when using a tuner. I have a 97 F250 and have the evolution. Since day one using the tuner I have had the code with no ill effects. So I doubt that is the problem. Question, if you clear the codes do the symptoms clear up as well?

Is it possible that the CAMP sensor went out? IT did cut out every now and again, but always started right back up. However this code is not present. And yes it still happens after I clear the codes, or I wouldnt be stuck. Thanks for asking ...

If your truck has a chip make sure it is makeing a good conection. A CMP will set a code if it is showing a problem. P0340, P0341, P0344

as I stated above, it was a 6003 or something but when I looked it up on http://www.troublecodes.net/Ford/73tdi.shtml
it showed a KAM error. I programmed back to stock, then put my program back in it againI have sense checked all connections, and got ****ed off and just let it run. It seems to be fine now. One thing that I didnt mention is that it sat for a few days in 20 degree weather without being plugged in or started. Would this make a difference? Doesnt have blended fuel either, I still think I am running straight 2. Is it possible to have a injector freeze at that temp? Its my last idea as to why this would happen so intermittently. darn diesel, if I didnt love it so much, I would hate it....LOL

I would bet my money on the EBPV. My truck did the same thing on a few cold mornings. After talking to a buddy at the Ford place here in town (who has a highly moded psd) He said with a high flow intake and exhaust that the rush of cool air into the motor on cold mornings would cause the ebpv to open and close, Hence the rough running for 10 secs and then normal again. i never got a light on the dash though. he did say it could set several different types of exhaust pressure codes. We unplugged the EBPV about 2000 miles ago and I havent had a bit of problems since, and here the last few morning it has been in the low 20's. My tuner also causes the Internal kam error, perfectly normal. If i leave it tuned to stock the error code goes away after a couple hundered miles..

P0603 is keep alive memory. Check PCM connectors and pins. Do a wiggle test on harness while running. Possible PCM failure.

it starts fine and runs for about 1 sec, then it sounds like half the motor quits and it goes to crap. It started it again, and here I am stranded again. I will try checking for loose wires. Where EXACTLY should I be checking??

HMMMMMM, Is the fuel pump quitting as soon as you release the key from the start position?
Also here is a link to my thread on valve cover wiring for what it's worth.
