Im a highschooler but when I get stuck its in my Bronco
Good for you Seriously, it is nice that someone is working for their stuff these days. Too many people expect it from someone else. Good luck with the bronco. While we are at it, I hate that new truck-monster-diesel attitude. "I can go thru anything. I can out-torque you. I..." It just bugs me that people mistake payments for grandeur. If I went and financed, I could have the baddest truck around, too
yesterday i got the beast back in the garage after mucho cleaning so i don't the garage too dirty! i go t up under the truck to start my swap and to my surprise my 208 was being help up and together at the same time by means of my drive shafts! when i took the driveshafts apart the t-case literally fell apart...i had busted it in half. i tok some 35mm pics with a disposable camera b/c i have no digi cam anymore so it might be a couple of week till i get some pics up.
finished up my shifters and linkages on the 205 and i have some friends coming by today to help me lift it in. so hopefully this afternoon i will have it bolted it! and maybe by this weekend i will have my driveshafts welded up!
...Amazing. You'd think it would have given you trouble gradually...instead of just in one divine act of destruction breaking it in HALF.
when you exceed the shock force the alloy will take, it breaks.. If you fatigue the metal, it will slowly go out (like bearing roller getting smashed etc)..
Yanking on someones truck to pull them out is a shock load (at least if pro or fishie is driving). Since he was beating the crap out of it for the last who knows how long, the fatigued metal + plus shockload = boom.
