4 Wheel Conversion

After much debating I decided to make my 97 F-150 2 wd into an offroad rig..... I know its going to take some work, but my question is will an np208 bolt up to an E40d...... Other than a C-6 what transmission could fit the np 208? Could I just get a 4 wheel trail for the tranny? Any advice would be great....... I plan on a D 44 or if I get the right parts truck, maybe a D-60

Plenty of guys that do a conversion such as yours have had decent luck with a 205 divorced unit. This allows you to use your existing trans without tearing it apart to change the output shaft.
Just a thought.

I can only assume you are going through all that effect to take it off road, in for a penny, in for a pound. Put a Dana 60 or at least an aftermarket 9" straight axle in there for all that work.
