this is my first post, hopefully in the correct section. I went through 13 pages of this section before i posted but didnt find what i wanted.
Im getting a 460/C6 combo tomorrow hopefully, and the C6 is the yoke type that goes to a Divorced tcase, can anybody tell me what transfer case that was, and the specs and strength of it?
Is there any websites or sections on this website that has a rundown of model years and what drivetrain they came with ?
I really need a case that i can use with a passenger drop front 44, i am fitting the 460 into my Cj5's frame (dont ask), and i have a passenger drop 44 front (GM sorry, HD front)
Look for a GM or Dodge divorced mount NP205. The 205 is virtually indestructable . . . same case Ford used but the GM or Dodge model will have a passenger side drop and will work with your C6 one you have the driveshaft built. About the only thing that isn't great about the 205 is the low gear is only about 2:1 whereas some of the other models were a bit lower than that.
My concern with the Klune setup is I'm not sure how much torque it can handle. I'll probably just do the 203/205 doubler as it'll be pretty hard to break. That'll still allow almost a 4:1 ratio.
International also had a divorced mount case in some of their trucks-I don't think that a c6 and divorced 205 will even come close to fitting into a cj5 wheelbase unless you are planning on some serious stretching!!!!
