Question Engine block heater

Just got a 2004 psd,Heading up to Oregon For Turkey Day,Went to find cord for block heater,I found it but boy is it short! Anyone know where this cord should come thru the grill ?Right now I can get it out the right tow eye about an inch, but if you let go of it it pulls back into the abyss.any thoughts ??
thanks !!

Tie it off to your tow hook with a black tie works well for me
but first you must cut the loop of wire free from a plastic clip up in the grill ITS HARD to get to.

engine block heater

I had the same problem with the cord being too short. I wound up going to the local Home Depot and buying the materials (14ga.wire and end connectors) and making an extension cord about 10" long. I leave it plugged in and tuck it behind the grille when not in use. Be sure and not forget to drape the electrical supply cord over your driver's side mirror when using the engine block heater so as to not depart with the cord still plugged to your PSD. Someone else posted this tip here and it sure has saved forgetful me.
