Acetoned Emblems

Hey guys,
I was thinking about doing acetoned emblems on my 94 f150, however from what i understand, this only works on 97-newer trucks. Is this correct? If so, i could always go to the junkyard and get some emblems off a newer truck. Do my emblems on my 94' stick on, or does the fender have holes in it? What about the 98+ emblems? Thanks alot.

The acetone treatment works on the older emblems - it removes the faded black, but the emblem is black and chrome underneath. It looks good, but not quite like the newer ones. I got the new 2004 F-150 tailgate emblems from Ford, and they are quite suitable for the fenders.
