Up behind the driver's side headlight, there's a wiring harness that needs to be disconnected. Once that's done, you need to put one of these on the end of the wiring harness. That'll disconnect your DRL's. If you merely disconnect the wiring harness, without putting the plug on the end, your headlights/dashlights won't operate properly.
Where do you buy the plug? Does the plug just act as a bridge, as if connecting the wires together (like the COMPLETE circuit of a light bulb(DRL))? If so, Couldn't you just splice the wires together with heatshrink, instead of the plug? Any help appreciated.
You might find one at a wrecking yard, but you'll probably have to go to Ford to get one.
I don't know if you could modify the wiring to eliminate the plug or not. Sorry.
There is a fuse block under the hood on the left wheel well. Pull #12 to disable the daytime running lights. At least I think that was the one. It's been a while ago.
I agree with you. I don't like them either. I don't like glancing in my rear view mirror and getting blinded by headlights in the middle of the day. Besides, and this is mostly for the Chebbys, only one is working.........
