Somewhere, there is a relay for them. Remove it and they should stay off. It is possibly in the Power Distribution box under the hood.
I hate DRL. I have glare sensitive eyes and they annoy me to no end. Every Generic Motors have them.
Look under drivers side front wheel well, you will see at the end on the frame the drl relay with a wires going to it, just simply unplug it, then yer good to go.
I have a 2001 Screw Lariat Gen III model that has a switch on the dash that allows me to control all of the light functions. The switch is on the left of the steering wheel on the dash. Off, turns this function and all other auto functions off.
This is my first post since Aug. 2006. Have been fighting Cancer and am now am in recovery. Good news is they got it all, the bad is that it will take me six months to a year to recover from the surgery. But at least I now feel like posting and being a part of this site again.

You must have purchased a canadian F-150 because the american f-150's don't come with DRL's. I added the two parts necessary to enable DRL's on my 2002 F-150. So i know you can disable it. Unplug the wire going to the resistor on the drivers side. No more headlights at start up.
