I posted when this post was originally started but after reading the more recent posts I have stuff I wanted to say,

Someone mentioned posers at there school...

Now, I have worked in farm auctions, I have spent summers out in fields doing whatever jobs were being done...I have friends in the country that I like to hang out with (they just got a computer a year ago...a nice 486 I might add) they aren't to good at school...but my friend aaron can tear down anything with an engine and put it back together in running condition every time. Not alot of money for parts growing up so he made his stuff work.

I can ride anything with wheels and some things without (dirt bikes, quads, snowmobiles, tractors etc I can drive big trucks with trailers whatever.

Now on the other hand I currently have a white collar job because it pays a hell of alot more then anything else out there while I'm in school. When I am done school I plan on buying myself a large amount of acreage and commuting to my office daily as I plan to be a liar...I mean lawyer.

Now, my thing is this.

I have 1 pair of cowboy boots, my "cowboy" hat, some ball caps, bunch of nike sneakers from when I worked there...some really wild ones I might add, dress shoes, work boots (terra lights) and my wardrobe has wild polyester shirts and poly pants that most of you wouldn't wear in your house let alone out. I also have jeans t-shirts, a white tux and a pile of other things.

Now my curiosity is this, I can wear any of these things and everyone who knows me knows I am just in a certain mood. I litsen to hip hop, I can dance to it at a club but I usually listen to country. I don't like getting cussed out in front of my family/friends by my radio. I don't even have a stereo in my truck...did in my previous car which was a slammed piece of jap scrap.

So now, does this make me a poser? Because I have had a computer business for 5 years and can trouble shoot a small-medium sized network ? Do some programming and other computer "geek" stuff, dance to hip hop yet listen to country most of the time and like wearing my cowboy boots I just got recently driving my 79 pickup and wearing my "cowboy" hat?

Interesting...just thought I'd ask sorry if its lengthy. I really don't care what anyone thinks (or I'd consult people before I went shopping LOL) But I was just curious.

Oh and for most of my life I have been born and raised in the city outskirts, still city though mind you but I am about 5 mins from farms or 5 mins from city (10 mins from a casino heh)

I am about the same way, Chado. By poser, i mean someone who honestly tries to be something they arent, so people that are will accept them.

ahhhh.

I see!

Ya that wouldn't be me, I take slack from alot of my friends for my boots / hat. But I really don't care! My "club" shirts are too extreme for them as well! Hah! They don't apparently like any of my outfits that go to one extreme...Normally for work I wear a black collar shirt and black slacks though with black ecco dress shoes (mid cut goretex very good for the days when your running late and you jump out of your truck into a 3" puddle

But I know what you mean, I don't like people that don't know what they are talking about talking. I like to learn from other people and people that yap / act like they know something they dont aggrivates the heck outta me!

ps. what's the "norm" in your neck of the woods? Up here there are a whole lot of nothings LOL. Too many "goths" for my liking and my highschool had the country boys, I prefer'd there company they usually weren't full of horse dung or themselves. Generally honest people. I'm sure theres a few bad apples but the majority aren't. It's a little different for women though I think when I worked at the farm auction my ma took on a 3rd job (at the time) as the cook in the ... well it wasn't a restaurant...but people bought food there? heh. Well anyway alot of "whatever you want to call them" guys with no front teeth and dirty clothes on trying to hit on her...in rather aggressive ways...my mom at the time was a registered amateur boxer, needless to say they didn't bother her much after the first few days.
