Where do I goto find peace? I go hang out with my "country boy" aka redneck friends.
They cant even turn a computer on But they are the nicest people I know, they will help anyone, dont ask for anything for helping them and dont want to / never would harm anything other then animals digging holes in their yard.
Do I wish I was them? NO! They have no teeth and cant turn on a computer.
What I do think is that if you find a nice mix and learn from both aspects you have one hell of a personality.
Thats what I try to model myself forever.
And to those of you who are redecks and have no teeth. No offence And its obvious you can turn on a computer (unless someone did it for you j/k <--- typical city boy humour) anyway.
Anyway,
peace guys.
and I'm totally stating that I agree with the words said above about rednecks being patriotic and respectful.
Truckfreak- I think 85 runs right into Hartford, and so does Rt 2. Either one of these will take you to within feet of where I'm at. My friend John has a 78 Bronco, an 89 F-150 4x4, and a 75 F-100 4x4. His father has my old 78 F-150 4x4. There is also a guy running around town with a 79 F-250 4x4, all lifted and running on 38's, and painted grabber green.
well we all gotta get together sometime, anyone got some muddin spots? I got some here but the trails are tight and im just now 6 months later in the process of repairing those dents lol, i wanna do a lift kit after christmas got any guys with good ideas on how to do this cheap, like maybe a cheap strait axle conversion rather than dropping a grand on the skyjacker lift? Or someone that wants to sell me one of their 78-79's they are my fav year lol.
Well I just put 2000 into mine to keep it on the road, so one of two things will happen, It'll stay running and I'll keep it cus now i got too much money in it to ditch, or two, it will die and I'll be so pizzed and tired of spending money I don't have I'll sell it and buy another one so keep me posted.
I was at a friends apartment in college many years ago for a small party and I was talking to a couple of people, when this girl, out of the blue, says to me, "you're from Eastern Kentucky, I can tell by the way you talk". It only bothered me because of the smug way she said it, while talking in a desperately bad attempt of a 'valley girl' accent. I asked where she was from and she told me Louisville. My response was, "I have several friends from Louisville and none of them try to sound like they're from California". Be proud of who you are.
i myself as far as the radio dial iwill listen to just about anything(ie:COUNTRY,some rap not all, some metal,a lot of rock and classic rock, oldies)but there is to be no listeneing to any classical piano or orchestra that stuff just stinks!
i wear t shirts almost all yr consisting of either metal band tees or trucks shirts and 97% of my wardrobe is black bc i like this color(it hides dirt well for after workin on the ole truck lol)
i own 3 coats a carhartt a columbia winter jacket and also an oilskin trenchcoat .
but beyond all else i love my truck's bc they will haul a lot of stuff --you cant do that in a car lol-- and the v8 or v6 pwr with rear wheel drive oh how i love rearwheel drive .unfortunately both of my trucks are only 2 whl drive i am hoping for a 4X4 IN THE FUTURE SO I CAN WELL... LEARN TO OFFF ROAD and mud bog and whatever else you pplz do for fun .but needless to say my trucks have served me well and take me where evr i wanted to go so far --almost gotten stuck in the mud a few times but with a bit of tryin it walked outta it --so i am not complaining 1 bit .i hate small cars myself mymom has a tempo 92 and i am 6'1 as opposed to her like 5'umm... well she is short height and when i drive her car she has the seat up all the way and the tilt wheel is down and i cant get in without moving them .
be it as it may i feel i am redneck but unfortunately there arent many of these others around here (i live in a city)i only know old ppl who were mechanics and are bakers now and just ole ppl but no real rednecks
Take it from a Texan, you get hell here too. I don't dress kicker either unless I'm going to the bar or going to my horses becuz that stuff is expensive down here. You can't get a good pair of jeans without spending $50 a pair. I wear lots of black tshirts with attitude sayings "I feel much better now that i've lost all hope, and this one time at band camp..., fear me for i have the power to destroy you, give me a dollar and i'll leave you alone" and lots more and I wear adidas tenny's and doc imitation sandles from payless.
Everyone knows that I love country music and metallica and will listen to anything (including classical becuz I was the band nerd and yes I did go to band camp...6 times) except oldies. I hate oldies. Why in the hell would you want to sing about mashed potatoes??? UGH!
Anyway, I know lots of preps that claimed a few kicker features back in hs. The kickers from HS don't still talk from where I'm from. My little group still does though. We were the misfits, "rejects" if you wanna get technical. We weren't any category, we made our own and there were more of us in it than any other group becuz as long as you didn't talk ##### to us, or about us, you were cool with us. Recnecks and kickers here are typically the #####s of the bunch that think they're all that. That's becuz they're wannabe's and don't know what it's really all about.
I do agree that the real rednecks are patriotic and loyal and alla that cuz it's true. Now the ones driving chevy have a loose bolt but the ford guys know how to tighten it...There's a black 79 with yellow racing stripes lifted with a gun rack in the glass but a bow and arrow hanging from it, dual whips, a hatchet in one of the front corners of the bed rail, and a flag on the other corner. He says he's got a 462...He's the stereotypical redneck right down to the worn out boots and the faded blue jeans...I don't even know the guys name...
Thanx!
Connie (only Ford luvr in the family!)
'79 f100 "Silver Ghost" (my baby)
'83 f100 "The Ford" (my first)
'85 f150 "Old Blue" (my next project)
I HAVE BEEN A REAL REDNECK COWBOY MY INTIRE LIFE (47yrs.) WE DROVE PICK UPS BACK WHEN IT WASN,T COOL, WE HAD NO CHOICE. I STILL DRIVE ONE TODAY.I JUST THINK IF THERE WERE MORE REDNECKS THE WORLD WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE. JUST MY 2 CENTS.
I am a country girl. Everyone at my work seems to think that I am the biggest redneck they have seen, but I disagree. They think this because they are obviously not around rednecks much. Me, I grew up around them. I believe that rednecks, hicks, country people in general are great people, however everyone is great for being who they are. I do not believe that one specific group is better than another. I try not to stereotype people too much. I have my share of redneck friends that call themselves rednecks, they make fun of other people for being who they are, for ex: "thugs", people from the ghetto, preppies etc.... I believe that they should be ashamed of themselves. Everyone is themselves for a reason, granted some are more obnoxious than others, but it all makes the world turn.
life too short to worry about whats cool and whats out now. i think those kids who spend their days watching mtv and worrying about whats in and out sell themselves short. but thats my opinion. i live my way(lived in a rural town most of my life, always loved (ford)trucks and country music) and they can live theirs. unless they are targeting me or one of my friends specifically i let them be.
cool was looking for the words to david allen coe's rodeo song and came here lol. Well since I just bought a 1979 bronco John deere green with a 351 windsor I thought Id post. HOWDY YA"LL
just what is that classification of REDNECK?????

I was born and raised in Pgh. Pa.....city girl (and city trouble maker ) till 7 yrs. ago, when I met my husband, a redneck from Wellsburg, Wva. where I have FIRMLY planted myself for the past 7 yrs.
I live out in the country now, with no close neighbors, 3 dogs, umpteen mouser-cats, a duck & a goose....and of course our FORD trucks
And am proud to call myself a redneck.....i wouldn't trade my lifestyle that I have now for anything...I am a 4-wheelin, country luvin', mechanically inclined, and not too modest to say fine lookin REDNECK!!!! And my life has been 4-ever changed, for the better, because of it!
