i found a 65 ranger today in a salvage yard. still has the bucket seats and it looks like the originally had skirting around the sides of the buckets to obsure the brackets. the skirting is out of carpet. this truck is original. the gas tank cover is some naugahyde type material with eyelets. someone had started to remove the tank cover but it is still there. the console is gone and the bolt holes are evident. the truck has the chrome rear bumper. the motor and transmission are gone. was a 352 3 speed. someone put a floor shift in it probably from the shift linkage going bad. that is probably when the console got lost. salvage yard owner has no history on the truck and i didn't look too close cause the salvage yard was large with many ford trucks and it was extremely muddy. i think i got a deal. i bought the truck for 200 dollars. i have to wait for the weather to dry up or freeze up to get it out. this is the first ranger i have ever found. i combed this junkyard last fall and this spring but this truck came in this summer so they are still out there. i am a happy camper.
I'll bet you're a happy camper. I'm impressed! See persistance pays off well doesn't it. I'm glad for your good fortune. I bet you're anxious, huh? I know I would be. Hey Man, Congradulations again!. . . . Good Job!
AHhh er where did you say this salvage yard is, . . . . (just kidding jim)

There are 4 photos of a Ranger that I took a couple of years ago at a show in western NC. You will have to view the photos with IE, for some reason Netscape will not work, and we can't figure why. You are welcome to look at all of the photos on the NCFTO site. http://forums.ncfto.org/photo_album_...r&mid=3&cid=70
i got my 65 ranger home today but it sure is rough. the only thing the truck is good for is parts but it still is a real 1965 ford ranger/ if anyone wants a few pics let me know.

fomocoloco......Consider yourself lucky just finding it and it not being only a foot tall after the crusher did it's job. Too many junkyards have cleaned out that "old" stuff to make way for the wonderful 70's and 80's along with pintos, vegas, chevettes and the rust prone foreign cars.
Most junkyards are starting to market their parts better to help their profits. In some ways that's good for us and bad, because it raises the prices of what we need, but they don't seem as scarce.
I had a 66' 4x4 with a fred flintstone cab & bed & aquired a 2wd ranger in excellent shape then swapped bodies. This ranger has all the chrome goodies but does not have buckets or a console. It doesn't appear to have any holes in the floor where a console would have been. I think buckets are neat in a pickup but give me a bench any day.
