In my opinion if you don’t want to hear the clacking of my diesel, roll your windows up and hope you have paid enough to get a sound proofed car. And for your sake one that has a good air system to filter out the diesel smell, because I will be ahead of you.

I use to live in South Florida (Weston) and your comment above sounds like a South Florida homes association rule????

Am I right.... where do you live?

Thanks,

The only ones who have a right to complain about mine are the horses in the trailer behind me.

My 04/04 lags and has bad mileage but only 3,500 miles. This new flash sounds good and my curiosity has the best of me. If this monster gets better I need to know.

I don't know if I should persue the relash with the motor not even being broken in yet and I am not dissatisfied and have no REAL problems.

Should I get it at my 5,000 oil change? Will my service writer perform the reflash for free if I tell him about a hesitation? He has already told me I should stick with what I have.

Don't listen to service writers as a general rule. This flash is a keeper. Just filled up again. City driving 16mpg and that was with some real bad traffic last Wednesday with all the rain. It was lots of sit and idle.

By Monday, I will be able to say what highway driving mileage is:

Just got mine back from the dealer. I got an oil change, new power steering pump and new exhaust Y pipe. (1600 Miles) If the dealer did re-flash it they did not admit it.

My truck is sooo much quiter...I assume becasue of the Y pipe.

If the dealer reflashed it, they should have mentioned it on the invoice. It would have showed up as a "recal".

How big of an improvement is that? Have you reloaded the Predator?

Well I started this thread and now I finally got my truck back from dealer, was waiting on warrenty work to be accomplished. Also had to tell the techs that I WANTED the new flash. Just filled up on Friday so not sure of MPG but will later. Ran the truck down the road and really like the difference in power, not sure what it was and was NOT bad but is better. I too never cared about the PI have grown up around BIG diesel truck and love the sounds and smell.

I see this thread is dieing out, I've been following it closely, because I need to take my 04 truck with 03 motor, 9-03 build date in for warranty work. Needs leak on steering box fixed, and hood blanket is falling apart. Would like to know if any body in ca. has had new flash and hows it working out?

That was a 1.5 to 2 mpg increase. I just got back off a road trip. Not a good test of highway mileage because of lots of stops and slow traffice due to floods, etc. But, I averaged 18mpg for 300 miles. First half of the trip was a lot of highway but I was loaded with a couple hundred pounds of stuff in the back. Return trip was stop and go, slow (45-55mph), heavy rain, etc.

Yes I reloaded the Predator to makes sure I could do it. Then I returned to factory tune. I had the r34g release for the Predator. I wanted to run around stock for a while to get a good feel for the new flash. It is much better on accelerator response, acceleration and mileage.

The new flash is a big improvement.
