Door storage pockets, rare?

My grandfather has a '64 Custom Cab F-250 with a pocket with a zipper cover on the driver's side door. I have a '65 F100 with a plain pocket in the driver's side door that I picked from a '65 F-250 that my grandpa owns.

There's no condensation with Wild Turkey! Mine usually functions as a trash bag but I'm thinking of pulling it and adding panels with speakers keeping the pocket in reserve for some later date. Has anybody purchased an aftermarket pocket? If so, what was the quality/comparison like?

I was thinking about building some out of alum. and covering it in canvas and have a boat cover guy sew in a heavy zipper. Trying to find a good trim ring is the rare part. A friend of mine makes them out of one piece alum. and look great.
