I wouldn't expect miracles. It is supposed to have 5 times more detergents than what is required by law, which doesn't mean much. I bought some 1 time since I got a coupon for it in the mail that brought it down to the same price as regular unleaded. I couldn't tell much difference, maybe a little less ping under load, but any premium will do that.
Your truck is designed to run on 87 octane unleaded. Anything more than this is not going to give you any more power, and may in fact cause more deposits in the engine. If your truck is running fine now, then don't expect anything from higher octane fuel.
i have been using Vpower gas for almost a year now at about 20 gallons a week on avg . and there is a noticable difference as far as fuel economy of the fuel and peformance. over diamond shamrock gas bp and chevron and 7-11 gas.
i run the sheel V-Power in my 2002 F150 4.6L, i alos have the diablo predator performance tune installed in it and i am requiered to run 93 octane fuel. but i have noticed better acceleration, better response and better fuel economy sice i have started running the V-Power. no other fuel has preformed as good as this even with the tuner installed.
I've tried using that kind of fuel and I haven't noticed any improvement in the performance of my truck. I think it will only be advisable using higher octane fuels if you've installed performance chips.
I believe that the added cost of a higher octane fuel is not worth it considering there would be no noticeable improvement in engine performance.
