My 460 is cutting out at 3 grand I have everything froom MSD box to NGK V-Power plugs everything ts new and set right. But it still cets out. Any advice?
While there are many things it could be, I would probably first through a timing light on it and check your initial timing, and then your total timing, and when it comes in. It should be @12 initial and 38 total in around 2600rpm. I don't know if you just have the msd box or the total package, vacuum or mechnaical advance. It could be the advance malfunctioning. If that all checks out, I would look at fuel delivery. Let us know what you find out.
The timing is set a little in advance and it is a vaccume advance distributer. I played with the timing for a while but it still cuts out at a constant high RPM. The only thing I can think of is too little fuel presure.( it has a stock fuel pump and lines )
Have you checked the choke? Is it opening? Does it miss the same with a load on the highway as it does sitting in your driveway? Does your MSD system have a rev limiter? Is it malfunctioning? Try re-installing the OEM ignition system.
