When I was doing searches which lead me to this forum, I came across several comments of Expeditions that have caught fire in people's garages. This was the first Ive heard of this and it kinda got me a bit worried.
Is there anything to these stories?
From what I remember reading they all had problems with the rear windshield wiper. It had recently stopped working and they all said the expeditions caught fire not long after they were driven. In a few cases they caught fire in the garage burning it and the car beside it up.
Also in one of these threads a reporter in the Houston area wanted victims to contact him because he was working on a story about the fires.
I didnt bookmark the forums I read this all in, I did i google search for Expedition wont idle, which was my original problem that brought me here.
I have never had any trouble like this with my Expy, and I hope we can get to the bottom of this.
I've been around this forum for about 4 years and have never seen or read one thread whereby anyone mentioned fires in their Expys.
If there are documented cases, then certainly there would be TSB relating to the problems. I do know that there are many documented cases involving faulty multi-function switches and rear wiper motors.
