I noticed after I bought my truck, it seems to hesitate from a dead stop and at lower RPM's (2000) when there is a small load on the vehicle (steep hills). I went back to the dealer and they looked over everything and found nothing and then said that it was the same on other vehicles, not just mine. Does anyone else have the same simptons or does anyone know if there wlll be a tech bulliton for this? thanks.
I have a 2002 2.3L 5 speed and All i can say is that the trucks power ban starts at 3000RPM.. 5025 RPM = 135HP at 2000 rpm the engine only has about 70HP... that is why it seem's slow..
I would try driving another truck like yours to see if this is true. You can look at a list of TSBs at alldata.com. If you find one that you would like to see send me an email.
I've never had that problem with mine. Is yours and auto or 5 sp. ?? Mine i a 5 sp. and moves decently. Not fast but as well as could be expected with the 2.3l.
It is a manual transmission. Could a vacume leak cause this? TSB 01-20-5 or the shift interlock TSB 01-18-1. It is almost like a slipping clutch, but that TSB (02-8-2) references A/T.
Any thoughts on going to a different dealer to see if they have the same conclution?
A vacuum leak can cause many different problems, including this.
01-20-05 is how to use a piece of equipement, 01-18-01 would cause a no start and 02-08-02 is only for A/T.
Either your dealer or go to another, if you go to another you might drive a different vehicle and let them think you are buying, this might make getting a test drive easier.
