High idle

no, i don't have an illuminated switch, just a regular switch with two posts. wire hooked to orange wire on one side, and wire hooked to blue/wt on the other side of the switch.

First let me say thanks for the info posted here. Placed the two wires on a switch and walla high idle. Now for the question. How do I find out what the other wires are for. Dont remember all of the colors but I have 5 or 6 with the protective ends. I also have the larger Blue/Red/White/Some other color that pass throught the FireWall. I have located those and will use them as needed but curious what the other wires go to. I will try to take a photo and post in my gallery if need be. Thanks Again.

just did this mod on a 2007 f-250 6.0 it still works, the wire colors are white and blue by the gas pedal, still the only wire hanging from the bundle, and orange for the PTO wire bundle. All i have to say you need to be a contortionist to get behind that dash.

I just finished the mod on my 06. It couldn't have been written any easier. Another big thanks for the guys who took time to document it. I believe my next upfitter switch will be used for the heated seats. I am tired of hitting the button by accident when sliding in/out of the seat.

I did this to my 05 Harley Davidson F-350 Auto, No PTO. I hooked the au4 #4 wire to the purple with light green stripe wire near the parking brake it is in a bundle with a bunch of yellow and green wires. It works great, flip the switch and it jumps to 1200 rpm, it will go higher if the battery is low, but goes back down, when fully charged. It will not come on with the parking brake off, i have to put on the park brake, and then flip the switch. Hitting the service brake kills it, and then let off, and in a few seconds revs back up. Thanks for all the info guys

It seems that there is an interlock which drops the high idle if you touch the brake or go pedal. My truck is an 04 6.0 Lariat 4x4 Supercab with NO PTO option. Truck was ordered from factory.

Thanks for this mod. Great addition for the wintertime warmup.
Always great info at FTE.

Thanks again to me1mckee . We appreciate your input.

Just did this mod on my 07 250. Works great, but definitely use an extra piece of wire to connect the two, and good luck getting behind the dash board if your a big guy! Wire colors are the same; orange PTO wire to Organge / blue Aux 4 switch wire.
THANKS for all the info

Just did this on my '07 Harley Davidson edition, however I wired through a relay to the rear defroster output on my factory remote start/ alarm system, now I can idle up without going to the truck! Thanks to all who have posted, my girlfriend is getting pissed I spend all day on this forum finding alot of stuff to do to the new truck. I'll have to remind her when we are in Utah's 20* weather how mad she was when I worked on this mod!

Just did my 05 f350 6.0 6 speed manual trans. I hooked the aux #4 wire to the BCP wire (purple with light green stripe) and no need for a resistor. Works great.

Just did the mod but did it being able to use the parking brake as the switch. just hooked the Blue wire with white stripe up to the green wire with a red stripe on the parking brake. The other wire is a pink with orange stripe but it will not work. Hich idle will come on automatically until you engage the parking brake then it will idle down to around 600 RPM. I did this to my 2004 F-250 6.0
