Question Code 32 ?????

Got the no fuel/no fire problem fixed now I have a code 32 coming up. How can I check to see what exactly the problem is? Checked all connections and seems fine. This is on a 88 F-150 with a Fuel Injected 302.

The EVP is a potentiometer just like the TPS. The sensed voltage should range from 0.24 volts min to 4.5 volts max. If it is outside this range, the computer will complain.

The most likely explanations are: that the potentiometer has developed an open circuit, the connector has a high resistance, the vref wire to the EVP has broken,
or the sense line is shorted to ground.

If you can back probe the EVP wire (pierce it with a needle is one way), you can then slap a voltmeter from the needle to ground. I suspect it will indicate 0volts. Check Vref next -- should be 4 to 6 volts.

Another thing you can do is to remove the screws securing the EVP to the EGR valve.
(Leave the EVP connected to the harness).

Manually depress the EVP plunger all the way and tie or tape it in place. If the code switches to code 34, the wiring is probably good and the EVP has a dead spot near the bottom of its travel. If it stays at code 32, unplug the connector and check for Vref and shorts to ground on the sense wire.
