i am a tech school student who just learned to use a scanner and got a few codes out of my 91 F-150 w/ a 302 and five speed, they are....
052, 029, 041, and 025
does anyone know any of these, any help would be great thanks. i scanned it beacuse i drive 130 miles a day and am only getting about 10 mpg even highway is this normal?? it has about 135,000 miles on it.
25 Knock sensor not tested (ignore if not pinging) - KS
29 Vehicle Speed Sensor problem - VSS
41 (R) System lean - Fuel control
(M) System was lean for 15 seconds or more (no HO2S switching) - Fuel control
52 Power Steering Pressure Switch/circuit open - PSP
(R) = Engine Running test (M) = Memory code (O)=Key On Engine Off test
Code 25 is a KOER code only. You (the driver) are supposed to floor the accellerator briefly towards the end of the KOER test. The MIL flashes once to tell you when. If you didn't do this, or didn't do it rapidly enough, you'll get a code 25. Another possibility is that the static timing is badly retarded, and the engine indeed didn't knock during the test. If you heard the engine knock as you goosed the throttle, then your knock sensor or wiring may be bad.
Code 52 -- again, you (the driver) are supposed to turn the steering wheel left and right after the engine code blips out during the KOER test. (4 flashes for a 302) This is relatively early in the test. If you don't do this, you get code 52.
Code 41 may be a dead oxygen sensor, investigate further if it repeats on a re-test

I think you just turn the steering wheel a half turn and release. That is just off of the top of my head, I haven't done it for a while.
