I had my head x-rayed and it showed most of the sinus and airway passages were very small. The doctor used something like a small dremmel tool and rotor rooted the passages open. I still snore but not nearly as bad
my cpap bugged the living daylights out of me. So I quit using it. Losing weight would probably be the best answer. I also try to lower my caffene intake about 4 hours before I go to bed. YOu might want to try falling asleep on your stomach. Helped so far with me.
Matt, why not look for another style of mask ? Really, I get tired of my CPAP sometimes, but I'd fight you for it if you tried to take it away from me. I sleep silently and get a good nights rest as well. My father has a machine too. He had a terrible time with the mask at first. The company that gave him the machine said there was only 2 kinds of masks available. BS ! A quick search on the 'net found at least 50 differant masks. Getting one that fit better made all the differance. Don't give up now, victory is so close. DF,@ his Dad's house

Wow...I'm making more room in the bed before I'm putting a dremel tool in my nose.
But seriously, I stopped out of the blue after a few months with a girlfriend. She used to complain about it relentlessly, and eventually, I stopped enitrely (or she lied to make me feel better), but I think mostly becasue of her. When we broke up, I proceeded to snore again like a madman. Maybe something subliminal?
I'm with you JD.... have heard that sinus and snoring cures are TOUGH
I'll try some other remedies first....
Let's say this I've woken MYSELF up I snore so loud.....
I'm with Dono.... think it's just my way of warning the bad guys off....
and if that doesn't get it... my 100+ lb dogs growl and bark will do it for sure
I tend to believe it's the position of your head that does it....
drop your chin onto your chest and you'll snore...
MY wife tells me the way she fixes it is:
1) she always tries to fall asleep before me...
2) if not, she'll ease my pillow a inch or two so my head is into a different angle and it doesn't wake me, but changes the air flow and I don't snore....
