I thought I'd check with you all before digging in. It's simple GE Dryer, about 7 years old. It sound slike it has a shoe in it with just a regular load of clothing.
I figure somebody here has seen this recently and can save me about an hour of trouble-shooting...any help much appreciated...I've got other things I'd rather be neglecting :-)
My Kenmore dryer thumps on every revolution. The drum (whatever it's called) rests on some small rollers at the bottom. The drum has a folded over seam that is riveted together on the ends but it is a little loose and not very smooth. When the seam goes over the rollers it makes a thump. There are two sets of rollers so it makes a double thump every revolution. I don't know of a way to fix it but it hasn't gotten worse over the years.
Anyway, maybe try checking your rollers. Hopefully that's the problem with yours. They sell replacement kits for the rollers and I think a belt comes with it too.
Sorry for asking what seems like a stupid question, but I figure it may be worthwhile.... Does it do this with all loads of laundry? Maybe you may have left a wrench or something in a pocket.
BB- Maybe try welding the seam together, then grinding the seam smooth?

More than likely the support rollers under the "drum". My kenmore had no bearing in the roller, just a oil impregnated brass bushing pressed into the roller hub. Bushing wears away, plastic on hub goes oval and gets bigger, thumping ensues. If I remember, about a $15.00 part.
drum center bushing bad. Some models have "glides" in the front that go bad and others have rollers and they os the bearings go out. Not hard or expensive to fix but takes a little time!
