Well, nothing as bad as some of these, but I remember years ago when I was single asking an absolutely gorgeous young woman out and she said yes. She was to meet me at my apartment after she got off work. I was at home waiting for her to arrive, sitting out on my fire escape 4 stories up. I see her coming down the street, (she does not look up and see me). As she entered the apt. building entryway, I went inside to head down to meet her. I noticed that the bell did not ring, but I got downstairs in 30 seconds or less. She was not there. I walked to the street and saw her in the distance heading away. Obviously she got cold feet right at the door! Only time I was stood up. Actually talked to her a few days later and she had a lame excuse for not coming. I never told her I had seen her at the door.

I actually got to know her a couple of years later when I was no longer single. She is really a very nice woman, but a little insecure. We became good friends and eventually I realized that if that first date had happened, she probably would have been the woman I married. Interesting to think how such a small spur of the moment thing can totally change the course of lives. Eventually we both moved from that city. Have not seen or spoken to her in over 20 years now.

Wow, there are some hilarious stories in here..... I can relate to the bad breath one. One night, I went out with a pretty young lady my freshman year in college, and we went... well, I don't remember where, but it was someplace "intimate". I had noticed earlier in the evening that her breath wasn't the greatest, and as things were heating up, I knew it was going to be bad. Without shame, I offered her an altoid mint, but she declined, so I decided I wasn't going to kiss her. She kissed me, and I couldn't help but reciprocate, but it was still terrible. I immediately "fell asleep".
