I get a code 433 Cam shaft POS sensor error or problem and the truck just quits, lights are all on, and the radio dosent miss a beat. I have a new syncornizer as ford calls it, is this what I need to repace?
PO340? this is the code for CPS circuit failure. Closest one I could find to "433"
The best bet is the cam shaft position sensor "CPS". Around $80 bucks at an International dealer. Simple install. I believe it may also be called the syncronizer but am not entirely sure. CPS fixes a lot of woes.
The P0344 is CMP Sensor Circuit Intermittent, which pretty much sums it up. I found the best way to attack it was with a deep well 10mm socket from underneath the truck.
I don't remove anything. Some say that they had better luck by first removing the serpentine belt, but I did not have any difficulty. The bolt is on the top side of the bracket, directly above the sensor. Once you get your head at the correct angle to see it, you shouldn't have any problems reaching it.
sOMEONE GIVE THE ADDRESS FOR THE IH DEALER that sells the camp for $ 80.00. I live in San Diego, the local IH dealer wants $125.00 + tax. I figured $80.00 + shipping of approx. $ 10.00 = $ 90.00. Still a bargain. Thanks for the reply.

That would be nice. I paid $100.04 out the door for my spare CMP, but it was still well below the Ford dealers cost.
