Battery dies.

My 78 has had a problem with the batt slooowwwly dieing and I mean slowly. It will be good for 1 week It will crank right up andI'll drive it for 12 or so miles and the truck is fine I can restart it and it just seems to me it cranks slower but others don't notice it. and it'll run fine the it goes home and the next day rur rur uoom she fires up reluctedly like only 25% of my batt is workink then I ride come back shut her down and turn the key click click-dead battery... It has a new starter-it did not fix the problem
New silinoid, Just picked up a new battery and none of this has cured it. I had the alt tested at O'rielly's and it tested fine. If I 2 amp trickle it it is perfectly fine walla

Get a voltmeter and check the voltage at the battery with the truck not running, and then check it running. It should be around 12v not running, and and something higher when it's running. This will check to see if it's charging. I know you tested the alternator, but that doesn't mean the other parts of the system are working.

If they checked the alt while it was still in the truck, then you might have a battery drain. Here's how to check that out.
