accessory tap

I'm looking for a point in the wiring system on my 1997 F-150 where I can tie into the keyed or accessory power. Other than tapping into a fuse, there seems to be no point in the fuse blocks where I can plug in a spade connector. Any suggestions?

I've seen fuse taps at the parts stores. Basically you plug your fuse into the tap and the tap into the fuse block. The tap has a spade connector on it for accsessories. Just look in the fuse section or ask for a fuse tap.

I was just wondering if there was another point I could feed from other than using a fuse tap. Thanks for the reply though.

In the 96 & up Rangers in cab fuse panel, there's 5 unused spaces. If your F-150 also has "unused" fuse spaces, you could test light them to see if they have power.

They're blank. I bought a bunch of fuse taps and was able to complete the project. The taps work great! Just be sure and use the fused side of the circuit, not the feed side.

Glad you got it figured out. I ended up installing an extra fuse block. Really worked out good!

Done the same but still needed to find a feed off the accessory line.
