I don't much like the idea, but I saw a Y-block with the crossover removed. The passenger side front was blocked off with a plate. The drivers side had a huge curved pipe coming off of the front that went close to the radiator and back down under the engine.
He had flomaster 40s on it. It sounded wild for a stock engine.
I guess it was OK, but it looked like the pipe was a little close to the fuel pump.....
I will dig around. I used to have a pic of it somewhere, but that was years ago.
EDIT: Sorry...they must have been on the computer that died. I don't have them.
Thanks Brian, I`ve seen this before and don`t much care for it but I may have to go that way.
That is the only one I have seen done that way. I am leery of it until I see someone safely driving one like that. Maybe some sort of heat shield would help?
The one I saw (first one I was looking to buy) was done that way, but he had never run it more than a few minutes at a time in his garage. Sure sounded good though.
If you try it, give us a report. Rams heads are way to expensive and good headers are not far behind.
I know a guy with all the equipment for bending the pipes. He has a stockpile of pipe that he bought with it too. He works with dad. In fact, he has my 9" (gotta go pick it up).
