Redneck, I have air bags that are made by Firestone, There are a few other manufactures of air bags as well, all are probably just as good as the other. I really like the air bag, definately get in cab air control if you go this route, well worth the time and money.

I have had a few people recommend the firestone airbags to me, Have you ever had any problems with your airbags?

No I haven't had any problems as of yet, had them almost a year now. I installed mine myself and order parts of of ebay (some small compressors, valves, etc.) to make mine control from in the cab, I usually run them about 5-10psi when empty, actually improved the ride, very nice when you weight it down, air them up and you never no the difference. Big advantage is with slide in campers, by design they dramatically reduce sway.

Most big trucks use Firestone so I would have to say that if there good enough for trucks much much heavier than our little four wheelers then there shouldn't be any problems with the little bit of weight that we can load legally or illegally.

Back to springs, aren't the rear springs on superduties (single rear wheel) the same? With the only difference being the rear block (4" for the F350 and 2" for the F250).

Where I went to get my springs, (Tulsa Auto Spring Co.), told me that they put different weight springs on the same make, model, and year. I figured that he knew what he was talkin about since he replaces them every day. It's a pretty big place to. Just going by memory, there was about 20 or 25 bays where they worked on vehicles, trailers, etc.

Mike

The 250 and 350s I have seen have the same rear blocks, the topmost spring on the 350 SRW or DRW has an overload spring that is turned upside down and rests on blocks or something on the frame when overloaded, and the added leaf that is the difference.

The tag on the door jamb of my 250 recommends load range "E" as well.
