I dont know if this will help much since I just became a f350 owner as of lastnight but I did notice when comparing my truck to my dads f250 that mine has 1 extra spring and some sort of little purches for the overload spring to hit that I didnt notice on his. I would assume you would need the longer bolts to go with it also to make up for the extra spring. HTH
As far as I know that is the only difference in the rear axle configuration. We have compared sveral with the same findings each time. Why do you want to add the overload spring?
is one overload spring the only difference between the f250 and f350? and if so is it better to just buy an overload spring?
I think that the spring steel on some of the F-250's are thinner than the others. I believe there is a spring code in the drivers door jam. I know that some F-350's have heavier springs than others.
I think that that can really vary. I just put new springs on the back of my F-350 a couple weeks ago and it lifted my truck up about 2". It depends on how bad your springs are. I'm not sure about brand new trucks. Get a tape measure and go to your local Ford lot and measure away. It would probably depend on the spring package that was put on the truck.
