416 stroker

Ok Im looking to call DSC and get a 428 crank and rods to throw in my 360/390 block. I know weve touched on this before but i need a refresher. I would like to get this setup internally ballanced, do i need to buy the flexplate and dampner for the 428 aswell? Secondly can i count on your average machine shop to do the internal balance or should I Pop for sending it to KC. (i would rather not have to chuck out the extra grand if i dont have to.) BTW will the larger rod bolts on the 428 rods rub the block or are they cool?

Most machine shops, around here anyway, dont do balancing. They send it out to have it done. That said, it's usually cheaper to go through them, since they send 'em out a bunch at a time and save on shipping. It shouldn't cost over $300 for balancing.

If you're going to have it internally balanced, you can use the flywheel and balancer off your 360/390/whatever.
