omnimax- Can you tell me if the liftgate goes high enough so the bottom of the gate is above the inside roof of the X??
jdadamsjr- "cardboard box" LOL, I use a big tupperware container in the back, holds everything from zipties to PB Blaster to my code scanner. I'm a big fan of being prepared
A nice decorative cardboard box always highlights a space NO?
I wonder why there is not a center console like the EXP has, you know goes all the way to the dash. Then you could really mod it up for any storage you want.
I have to admit I thought I was clever when I bought a med sized plastic tote with a hinged lid for the back of my X.. I use it to store jumper cables, a few tools, flashlight, spare fuses, etc.
guess I wasnt as unique as I thought.. lol
On 2nd thought, maybe I can think of my plastic tote as a major upgrade from "stock" cardboard lol
I have jumper cables, a small tool kit, my receiver, a bottle jack and toe strap in the rear area where the stock jack was. It all slides in there pretty well so long as you don't mind taking it all out to get one thing. lol
OK what is in the rear door? Instead of the add on rack that sticks into the cab why could you not cut out the area and recess a storage bin?

Sorry this took so long, but I was parked on a level driveway this weekend with the liftgate up and I realized I never answered your question. I looked from both sides and the back of the truck and the bottom of the pull handle on the door looks to be at the same level as the top of the door opening. Didn't have a 4' level handy to make sure, but it definitely looks like the door lifts as high as the door opening.
