I was just wondering if there are any computer chips for the 2.8 liter v-6 in my 85 bronco II. I have heard of chips that can increase horsepower, torque and even gas milage. Any information on these chips or where I could find one would be very much appreciated.
I checked into a company and they have never heard of one for the ecc-iv system. I honestly don't think one does exists.

I have the 2.9 L in my '88 Bronco II and I have been thinking about getting a new chip for it. Where can I find available chips? I heard about some that maximize HP, others that maximize shifting positions... What's the difference? Is there a site somewhere I can go to find info on different chips and see what's available for my truck? Thanks for info.

Good luck, if u you install it, lemme hear how it goes... I was thinking of popping one in my 1989 Bronco II...
At one time, I had a Hypertech chip in my '87 BroncoII, 2.9L manual shift. I had purchased it at Pep Boys. Chip came with excellent instructions and a tie-down strap to accommodate the now-larger computer. Installation was easy. Just peeled back a sticker covering a terminal on the computer and plugged the chip in; then re-mounted the computer and kick panel.
Improvement was only slightly noticeable. Down the road, I had instances where it would momentarily run "funny" and I eventually removed the chip. A more noticeable improvement came from replacing the muffler with a low-restriction turbo muffler. The chip is good, but IMHO, I don't think the slight improvement justifies the cost.
