TFI module again

ok ive taken a module off before and i have the special tool to do it i took the bottom screw out and went to do the top one and low and behold the tool doesnt fit its like the hole is too small or the tool too big. i would really hate to have to modify this tool, has this happened to anyone else? i suppose it would be easy to work on with the dist out but im doing this with the dist in,same way i did it on my 85 bronco2 (just a little less space to work around)if this has happened to anyone id love to know what you did. thanx

TFI module again

Whenever I have changed the modules I found that only a Snap-on or Unitool 7-32 would fit. Most other sockets are to thick. The other thing is to make sure that the hole does not have anything in it. I have seen those have what looks like mud stuck in the hole. Take a can of brake and parts cleaner and spray it in the hole. The parts cleaner works better than just compressed air because it flushes the hole out. If the hole is hard to get at take the little red straw out of nozzle of the brake cleaner and if you heat it up with a lighter and bend it and hold it while it cools, it will stay in the bent shape. Do not heat it to much or it will colapse.
