Wet under passenger seat bottom
Wet under passenger seat bottom
The carpet in my 84 Bronco II gets wet under the passenger side, rear seat cushion. I noted this when I flipped it forward to get something long into the back. After I had latched the seat back back into place, I left the seat cushion flipped forward to let air at it and the carpet dried out. However, it's wet again now. The driver's side seems to stay dry.
Any suggestions as to where the water is getting in?
Thanks,
Ian

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 29-Jan-02 AT 10:06 PM (EST)]Ian, check under the carpet, further toward the dash. It might be coming from a leaking heater core. If the windows fog up in the mornings with the heater on, then it is definitely the core.

had the same problem with my '87 BII - I thought that it was just a faulty seal between the windshield and the frame - I would once a year remove the trim on top of the windshield, and plaster some silicone into the area - then one day (time marches on....) I am in the window repair shop, and I mention this problem to the glass guy - he tells me that this is a known and cronic problem with the ford bII's and rangers - seems that the problem is actually in the body seam, up top near to the windshield. He put some stuff into it, and it hasn't leaked since. If it is the radiator core, you will know right away, the smell of the antifreeze will give it away.
good luck!
