I have a 1986 clubwagon xlt with EFI, and am looking for more power to tow a 3500# trailer. Looking to install Doug thorley headers and dual exhaust, MSD ing., MSD dist.,K&N filter, accel fuel injectors, is there anyone out here who has tried a set of these headers?, or any other of the things I have listed here to help there performance any?, or am I missing a bigger issue other than I am trying to work a small block tool hard?
Thanks for any advice,
Steve.

The headers, duals and CAI will give you a boost in performance by themselves, but a new ignition and fuel injectors, by themselves, do little for you on a stock motor. You don't need a new ignition until you start looking at nitrous or other power adders. New injectors won't help until you are able to flow more air/fuel mixture into your engine as with the above power adders.
If you're looking strictly at add-ons, you may want to consider an electric fan and underdrive pulleys as well.
If you decide to get more serious, then you're looking at higher flowing heads, bigger cam, higher compression pistons, etc.
Personally, I like stroker motors for their increased torque as well as HP.
