leaky brake valve name
what is the name of the brake valve thats mounted on the frame and connects to the diff by a lever? the one that allows more braking with more weight in the bed.
where can i find a replacement one?

i think that the proportioning valve is up front under the master cylinder and controls the fluid between the disc and drum brakes. the valve im talking about is right above the rear axle and connects to it by a lever. it controls the braking power for the rear drums.
has anyone had to replace it and where did you get it?

The combination valve up front normally includes a proportioning valve, but in this case the proportioning valve is tied to the rear axle so that when the truck is loaded more heavily, more braking is done by the rear brakes. I'd guess that the only place you'll get a replacement valve is from Ford or from a wrecking yard.
If it's a big deal to get another stock valve, you could replace it with a Wilwood adjustable prop. valve.
