RABS Valve Problems

I have a 1990 F-150 4X4, I think the RABS valve is shot. The rear brakes drag to the point that they are smoking. I have replaced calipers, shoes, pads , sensors , you name it and the darm thing still is dragging the brakes. If I totaly eliminate the RABS from the system will this affect the braking aside from it behaving as an older style system ?

is your e-brake sticking,????? a rusted cable, or are you adjusting the rear brakes wrong, i wouldent thing the valve would not allow fluid to travel back to the MC. Did you put a spring kit in there when you did the brakes? a weak spring will cause the brakes not to fully retract.

I replaced springs and checked the cable too. Just finished by-passing the RABS and road testing, the truck stops very well, pedal is still a little low, but I am having the system flushed as the fluid that was in it looked bad, so I'll let the shop guys handle it from there.

fluid is very easy to flush, you could save yourself a bundel and do it yourself.

I figured I would let them do a good flush and gravity bleed on the system. I have run a quart through it and it still looks nasty.

the system holds a lot, gravity bleeding is just as easy. all you do is open all the bleeders and make sure you keep the fluid full thats all.
