Intermittent hard start
95 Exp 4.0 - replaced fuel pump relay twice (helped for a while), problem back again, and advice from thread suggested "initializing" instrument panel with key ON and THEN cranking engine. It will start this way, but what is causing it? Some have said electrical power "robbed" by "initializing".? This seems too common not to get thousands of answers.............Thanks!

Mook, the "initializing" is just a stopgap measure; it shouldn't be needed for a normal start. First check the plug-in for the fuel pump. Un-plug it and spray with WD-40 or something similiar. If this dosen't help, I suspect you have a fuel pump on the way out.....sorry to say it's probably a bad pump.
