Looking for a EEC IV for a 88 BII, 2.9, auto trans, a/c. Several questions:
1. What other years and or models will work?
2. There are about 6 different numbers on it, which ones are important to match up a replacement?
3. Is it possible to have the EEC tested out of the vehicle?
4. Does anyone know the going price for a used computer?
This is a great forum to keep these trucks going. Thanks.

When you talk of the EEC IV, is that the computer? If so, I bought a new one for $114 two years ago. You would think the parts store could tell you what other years have the same computer. Since this is the brain of the truck, I bought new.
My Bronco would not run consistently and failed emissions. I took it to a dealer to diagnose. THEY told me my computer and TPS were bad. I replace them both and the truck ran much better.
How they know the computer was bad, I do not know.
Good luck.
