You might want to check out a fan from a Taurus/Sable, they move a LOT of air and I have run them for years in a couple of different vehicles and never had a problem with just a toggle switch, but I use the heavier style switch. try not to get water or mud inside the motor of these fans, they dont tolerate that very well, but I doubt any of them would.
well mine have seen alot of mud and water when they were on the 86 with no problems of coarse I don't have that problem now.
I measured them and they are 24" at the widest point, and 15" tall, the fans are 10", and 12" diameter.
The 3.8l Taurus/Sable fans are the fan of choice. 2 speeds, and move something like 5000 CFM on high... You DEFINATLEY need relays... Said fans draw 80 amps on startup... 2 45 amp relays in Paralell is what Ford used for them...
Are the taurus fans shrouded type or just open fans, that seem like they would definatly be good setup though if you can find them, most of them I looked at were gone, or they had the 3.0 in them. I do like the 2 speed idea.
Yeah i believe in the one yard i will be going to to pick up this 9", i know that there are several tauras/sable sittin in the, and that idea of a 2 speed fan is pretty neat thing to have. As for those dyansti fans they seem like they won't cover the bottom 6 or so inches of the rad, but i think it'll depend on what i can find when i go up and also what will fit the rad the best.
